As we age, our nutritional needs change, and concerns arise around safety and feeding abilities. This presentation will identify the unique concerns and needs of people with dementia, and provide tips on how to assist in addressing these needs. In addition, the web seminar will describe challenges of using Meals on Wheels for people with dementia. Speakers for this webinar include, Janet McKee, president and proprietor of Nutritious Lifestyles, a nationwide dietetics consulting company, and Liz Weaver, MS, LSW, project manager for the Southern Maine Agency on Aging’s Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative Grant.

Date/Time: May 16, 2017 from 1-2 p.m. ET.

Participants in this web seminar will be able to:

  • Identify at least two unique concerns around safety and nutrition in people with dementia;
  • List at least three ways to address these nutrition concerns;
  • Describe challenges of using Meals on Wheels for people with dementia living alone; and,
  • Describe at least two approaches that can be used to address these challenges.
